This site plan, dated November 5, 1947, shows the tree at the upper left as a 5 inch caliper tree. Dr. Davis Syndor, Professor of Natural Resources, states that a tree planted in about 1936-7 could have a 5 inch caliper (at 4 and 1/2 feet) in 10 years when this site inventory was completed.
